CAMPEP Policies and Procedures - Journal Article Review Activity Requirements
(JAR home)
Credits Awarded
The Editor determines if a qualified reviewer has sufficiently addressed an article to receive credit:
- credits will be awarded for adequate review of a full article.
- credits will be awarded for a review of a short, technical note.
Approval of Educational Activities
In order for CAMPEP to award MPCEC, a remotely continuing education program must be approved for that purpose by the CAMPEP Continuing Education Credit Committee and, where possible, meet the requirements of the American Disabilities Act.
Requirements for approval are as follows:
- The Editor of a journal that publishes articles related to medical physics can apply to become a director of continuing education activity.
- In order to be approved, Journals that wish to offer CAMPEP approved MPCECs for a journal article review activities must meet the following qualifications:
- Editor qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical physics or related subjects sufficient to determine that an article reviewed falls within the purview of the discipline. If an editor is not qualified, an associate can be designated whose field is sufficiently close to medical physics to make such determinations as long as that associate maintains autonomy in administering the program.
- Journal qualifications:
- Publication of papers relating to medical physics or conventionally related topics, without commercial basis.
(NOTE: Scientific journals published by any CAMPEP sponsoring organization automatically satisfy criteria for both Editor and Journal qualifications).
- Publication of papers relating to medical physics or conventionally related topics, without commercial basis.
- Editor qualifications:
- Following a change in editor at a journal or the editor's designate for managing the MPCEC program, a new application must be submitted to continue the program.
