Credits Awarded

One (1) credit will be awarded for each educational activity element of a remotely directed education (RDCE) activity. The requirements for educational elements are established by the Medical Physics Continuing Education Credit Committee for each type of RDCE activity.

Approval of Educational Activities

In order for CAMPEP to award MPCEC, a remotely continuing education program must be approved for that purpose by the CAMPEP Continuing Education Credit Committee and, where possible, meet the requirements of the American Disabilities Act.

Requirements for approval are as follows:

Organizations that wish to offer CAMPEP approved MPCECs for an online program must do the following:

  1. Establish a committee to oversee the RDCE program and identify a program director.

  2. Provide information that such a committee exists and outline the goals of the program.

  3. Provide committee member biographical information and credentials of the program director.

  4. Provide an outline of how the online program works and how it is monitored by the committee.

  5. Require that for each single educational activity a set of at least 10 questions unique to the subject and designed to test the participants understanding of the subject matter. Individuals taking the online test must answer at least 80% of the questions correctly in order to obtain the one credit for the presentation.

  6. Provide CAMPEP with the list of participants to receive credit, including the titles of the quizzes each passed
    and the number of credits earned in order for the transcript to be generated. There will be a US $10 fee for each participant.
  7. Describe the mechanism used for obtaining the questions/answer sets.

  8. Provide a year end report of the previous year's program activity. The information to be provided when the Applicant applies for reaccreditation of the program. The application for reaccreditation will not be approved if this requirement is not met.

Information provided should include statistical information such as:

- Number of Educational Activities the committee approved
- Number of Educational Activities for which participants took exams
- Number of participants who took exams
- Number of participants who passed exams
- Overall score profiles
- Include a sample of four or five exams
